Certification
Compliance That Clears Customs
CE, FDA, UV400 and material test reports prepared for your products — so you can import, clear customs and list with confidence.
Selling eyewear across borders means more than making a good product — it means proving the product meets the standards of each market you enter. A missing test report or declaration can hold a shipment at customs or get a listing removed from a marketplace. Our certification support exists to prevent exactly that.
The documents most buyers need fall into three groups. For the European Union, CE marking with the appropriate Declarations of Conformity. For the United States, FDA registration of the importer and product. And for safety claims everywhere, the test reports that back up your marketing — above all the UV400 lens test that confirms 99–100% UVA/UVB protection.
Beyond those core documents, we can arrange:
- UV400 lens test reports — verifying the sun protection you claim on-pack and online.
- Material safety tests — covering frame materials, coatings and contact surfaces against relevant standards.
- Export compliance files — a consolidated document pack to smooth customs clearance in your destination market.
Because requirements vary by country and product, we confirm the exact documents your market needs before production starts, then compile and supply them with your shipment. This is part of every order at 300 pieces and above, with documentation prepared in parallel with your 4-week production run so nothing delays the release.
Each mark answers a different question, so it helps to know exactly what you are buying. CE marking is a declaration that the product meets the European Union's health, safety and environmental requirements, and it is what lets frames circulate freely across the European Economic Area. FDA registration records the product and the importer with the US agency and is a precondition for legal entry into the United States. UV400 is not a government mark but a performance claim — that the lens filters essentially all UVA and UVB — and it is the safety fact most quoted on-pack, online and at the counter.
The commercial stakes are concrete. Without the right documents, a shipment can be held at the port, and a marketplace listing can be refused or removed. European customs officers and platform auditors ask for the Declaration of Conformity and test reports before release; US authorities and selling platforms expect the FDA registration to be on file. A distributor who has committed to a container cannot afford to discover a paperwork gap on arrival, so securing compliance before production is what keeps delivery dates — and reputations — intact.
Certification runs on its own clock, which is why we start it early and run it alongside production. The typical path is to confirm the standards your market requires, have the lenses and materials tested at an accredited laboratory, then issue the declarations and complete the registrations. Laboratory testing for UV and material safety is usually measured in days to a couple of weeks, and registrations are filed once the product details are locked. Because this happens in parallel with your 4-week manufacturing window, the paperwork never extends your delivery date.
The correct package is defined by your route to market, not by a fixed folder. A brand shipping only to the United States needs FDA registration plus the UV400 and material reports that support its marketing claims. A brand entering Europe needs CE marking with its Declarations of Conformity. A brand selling across both regions, or through global marketplaces, needs the consolidated export file that satisfies every destination at once. We map where you sell and recommend the smallest complete package, so you pay only for compliance you actually use.
Think of the documentation pack as the product's passport. The test reports prove the safety claims printed on the box; the Declaration of Conformity is what a customs officer or platform auditor requests when a shipment or listing is checked. Complete, consistent paperwork shortens clearance times and shields listings from removal or reinstatement delays. Because the documents travel with the goods and are archived for the life of the product, they also protect you later if a claim is ever questioned — a working compliance file rather than a formality.
