The depth of your customization determines cost, timeline and tooling. At the lightest end is private label, where you brand a proven in-stock style with your logo, colors and packaging. No new molds are required, so setup is fast and affordable — the right fit when you are validating a market, launching a quick seasonal drop, or testing your brand name before investing in unique tooling. Made-to-order work on existing tooling typically adds only a few days for logo application and finish changes.

The next tier is modifying an existing silhouette: changing a temple profile, adding a nose-pad system, or reskinning a frame in new colors and materials. This reuses core tooling while giving you a product that is visibly your own, balancing moderate cost against a more distinctive line. The deepest tier is fully original design, where we build molds and tooling from your sketch or reference. It carries the highest setup investment and the longest lead time, but returns a product no competitor can simply order from a catalog.

A clear process protects both your budget and your schedule. We start with a technical review of your concept or sample, locking materials, dimensions and hardware before any money is spent on tooling. Then comes the pre-production sample, which you approve against a written specification rather than a vague impression. Only after sign-off do we cut production molds, run a pilot batch to confirm fit and finish, and move into full manufacturing with in-line inspection at every station from injection to final assembly.

Three pitfalls derail most custom eyewear projects, and we build our process around avoiding them. Color batch drift, where later dye lots no longer match the approved sample, is controlled with locked color standards and a retained sample for every order. Logo execution — engraving, printing or hot stamping — can read crisp on one material and muddy on another, so the process is specified per material before sampling. Dimensional tolerance on temples and hinges is held against a drawing so every pair fits identically.

Customization is the difference between reselling and owning a brand. When a style is made only for you, you set the price instead of competing on the same wholesale listing as every other buyer. Small, deliberate details — a tuned temple curve, a colorway that matches the rest of your collection, packaging that carries your identity — justify a higher retail price and give customers a reason to come back.
