Custom Sunglasses
Complete Sunglasses, Built to Order
Frame, hinges and sun lens produced as one coordinated system under your brand — factory-direct from 300 pieces with a typical 4-week production lead time.
A pair of sunglasses only performs as well as its weakest component, which is why we treat the frame, hinges and lens as a single engineered unit rather than three separate parts. When you work with SunDefeat, every element is selected, tooled and assembled to the same drawing, so the finished product is consistent from the first sample to the last carton.
You control the full specification. Choose a silhouette from our fashion catalog or send your own reference, then define the frame material, temple length, hinge type, lens tint and coating. We produce pre-production samples so you can validate fit, flex and optics before committing to mass production.
Every sun lens we fit is UV400 rated, blocking 99–100% of UVA and UVB radiation. From there we add the treatment your market needs:
- Polarized — reduces glare for driving, water and outdoor retail.
- Mirror — flash coatings in a wide range of colors for a bold, fashion-led finish.
- Photochromic — lenses that darken outdoors and clear indoors, ideal for transitional eyewear.
Fashion styling is part of the service. Our in-house team tracks color, shape and finish trends season by season, so we can suggest current combinations or engineer your own. Standard MOQ is 300 pieces per style per color, with production typically completed in about 4 weeks after sample approval.
Every custom sunglass project starts with a handful of decisions that shape the entire product. Silhouette sets the identity — round, square, cat-eye, aviator or shield — and determines the front tooling. Lens type follows the use case: a flat or gently curved lens suits fashion, while a wrap curve demands sportier frame geometry. Material sets weight, flex and price, and colorway ties the style back to your collection. Logo position is decided last, once you can see where it reads cleanly without distorting the surface.
These decisions are interdependent rather than independent. A deeply wrapped sport lens changes the hinge and temple angle, which in turn changes how the frame sits and where a logo can be printed or engraved cleanly. We review the full specification together before sampling, so a late change to one element does not ripple through tooling and cost. That single-drawing discipline is what keeps a first sample close to the product you actually intend to sell.
Fashion and functional sunglasses are built to different rules. A fashion frame prioritizes silhouette, color depth and finish, with a lens that can be gradient, mirror or solid and less emphasis on wrap coverage. Functional designs — polarized driving styles or sport models — invert the priorities: lens optics, wrap fit and grip come first, with styling layered on top. We engineer the two directions separately, from base curve to nose-pad retention, so you are never forced to compromise one requirement to satisfy the other.
The pre-production sample is where design meets reality. You receive a physical pair built to your specification — your material, color, lens and logo — and validate it on three counts: fit and flex, lens optics, and finish quality. Notes on that sample feed back into the drawing before production tooling is finalized. This approval step is where most costly mistakes get caught, and it is precisely why we never trade it away for a faster turnaround. A sample you hold beats any rendering.
Order strategy matters as much as design. A small trial batch lets you test a style, colorway and price point in real retail before committing heavy inventory, and keeps cash flow light while you learn which SKUs actually sell through. Larger runs, once a style is proven, unlock better unit pricing and smoother repeat orders. Many of our clients open with a trial order across several styles, then scale the winners into volume production the following season, reusing the same approved tooling.
